Unforgettable Car Trend: What It Is and How It Works

The Unforgettable car trend explained: the 24 UNO card reveal, the French Montana song, the beat-by-beat timing, where it started and how to make yours.

Last updated: 2026-10-14

The Unforgettable car trend is a 15-second TikTok and Reels clip set to "Unforgettable" by French Montana featuring Swae Lee. You hold up a red 2 and a red 4 that read 24, sweep your hand across the lens at about 4.5 seconds, and when the frame clears, a car is parked behind you.

That is the whole idea: a short talk to the camera, a pair of cards, one hand swipe and a reveal that lands on the beat. The rest of this page covers where it came from, what each second looks like, why it caught on and the different ways people make their own version.

What happens in an Unforgettable car video?

Almost every version follows the same structure, because the format is copied from one clip:

  • Length: about 15 seconds.
  • Shot: one continuous handheld phone shot, usually vertical for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. The original was horizontal.
  • Cards: a red 2 and a red 4, held side by side so they read 24, with the 2 on the left.
  • The swipe: a hand sweeps across the lens and covers the whole frame for a moment, at about 4.5 seconds.
  • The reveal: when the hand clears, around the 5-second mark, a car is parked behind the person. It is already there, completely still. It does not drive in.
  • The ending: the person points back at the car with a thumb, puts both hands on their head, walks out of frame, and the car is left alone in the shot.
  • Sound: "Unforgettable" by French Montana featuring Swae Lee (2017).

Where did the Unforgettable car trend start?

The clip most remakes copy was posted on TikTok by @y0kun on 2 September 2026, with the caption "24". It was filmed in a parking lot at night: he talks to the camera, raises the red 2 and 4, swipes the lens, and a grey coupe is parked behind him when his hand moves away.

Over the following weeks, people re-filmed it with their own cars, then with borrowed, rented and dream cars. By early October 2026, tutorials, CapCut templates and AI generators had made it one of the most copied car formats on TikTok and Reels.

What song is used in the Unforgettable car trend?

The sound is "Unforgettable" by French Montana featuring Swae Lee, released in 2017. Most posts use the short cut of the song that circulates as the trend's sound, timed so the drop meets the hand swipe.

If you add the music yourself, use the trend's own sound from the TikTok or Instagram library rather than the full track. A different section of the song will usually miss the swipe.

The trend has nothing to do with the CBS crime series Unforgettable, the Nat King Cole standard of the same name, or any app called Unforgettable AI.

Why is it called the 24 card or UNO car trend?

Because of the two cards. The red 2 and 4 look like number cards from an UNO deck, and together they read 24, which was also the caption of the original post. That is where the other names come from:

  • 24 UNO car trend
  • UNO card car reveal
  • 24 card reveal
  • AI car reveal trend, for the versions made with AI video tools

When people search for the "unforgettable card", they mean this pair of red number cards, not a trading card or a gift card.

The beat sheet, second by second

This is the timing good remakes follow, measured from @y0kun's original:

  • 0–1.5 s: glance away, then turn to the camera.
  • 1.5–3.3 s: talk to the camera, one hand near the face.
  • 3.3–4.3 s: the 2 and 4 come up to the lens, reading 24.
  • 4.3–4.8 s: the hand sweeps across and covers the lens (about 4.5 s).
  • 4.8–5.5 s: the hand clears and the car is parked behind you.
  • 5.5–11 s: point back at the car with a thumb and look back at it.
  • 11–12.5 s: hands on the head, walk out of the frame.
  • 12.5–15 s: the car alone in the frame.

The 4.5-second swipe is the part that matters most. If it lands on the beat, the reveal works even when the rest is loose.

Why did the Unforgettable car trend spread?

There are no official numbers behind this, but a few reasons are easy to see from the clips themselves:

  • The payoff comes fast. The car appears at 5 seconds, before most viewers would scroll away.
  • It is a simple camera trick. The hand covering the lens hides the cut, so a two-shot edit looks like one continuous take.
  • It works with any car. A supercar, a family hatchback, a parent's pickup or a rental all fit the same template, which made it easy to remake and to parody.
  • The sound is familiar. "Unforgettable" was already a well-known song, and its drop gives the swipe a clear moment to land on.
  • People without a car could still join in. AI video tools let anyone put a car behind them, which pushed the format beyond car owners.

How can you make your own?

There are four common ways, from free to paid:

  1. Film it yourself with a real car. Record the talk and the swipe, record the car shot, and cut on the swipe in CapCut or Instagram Edits. This is free; whether a watermark appears depends on the app's export settings.
  2. Use a CapCut car trend template. Templates rearrange your own clips to the trend's timing, so you usually still need footage with a car. Some are free, some need CapCut Pro.
  3. Write a prompt for a general AI video tool. No car needed, but you write the prompt, attach your photo and get the swipe timing right yourself. See the Unforgettable car prompt guide for a ready-made prompt.
  4. Use a dedicated generator. On Unforgettable Car AI you upload one photo of you and pick a preset car or a photo of any car, and get a 15-second MP4 with the trend sound.

The full walkthrough for each route, including phone posting steps and troubleshooting, is in how to do the Unforgettable car trend.

What should you check before posting?

  • Label AI video. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube ask creators to label realistic AI-generated video. Turn on the AI-generated label if your clip was made with AI.
  • Ask before using someone else's face. Only make a video of a friend or partner with their permission, and show it to them before you post it.
  • Personal posts vs ads. "Unforgettable" is a commercial recording. Posting a personal clip with the sound from TikTok's or Instagram's library is how the trend works; using it in an ad for a brand or a dealership needs a music licence.

Make the Unforgettable car video from one selfie

If you don't have the car, or don't want to film two takes and line up the cut, the generator does it in the browser on your phone. Upload one photo of you, choose one of three preset cars or upload a photo of any car, pick 9:16 or 16:9 and 480p, 720p or 1080p.

You get a 15-second MP4 with the trend sound and no watermark. A 480p video is 167 credits, and the Single Reveal pack is $5.99 for 170 credits, so your first video costs $5.99. Larger packs and per-video prices are on the pricing page. Failed videos are refunded automatically.
